We are delighted to present the 2024 Annual Report of Current Challenges in Thoracic Surgery (CCTS). The journal has continued to expand its global presence, with an international editorial board, diverse authorship and readership, and growing website pageviews. Notably, CCTS achieved significant milestones this year, being indexed in the Web of Science (WOS) [Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI)] in March 2024 and Scopus in December 2024.
- CCTS has an international editorial board comprising 80 members from 12 countries, with the majority from the USA (59%), followed by Japan (9%).
- CCTS published 34 articles in 2024, including corresponding authors from 9 countries, predominantly from the USA (56%), followed by Canada (11%), Japan (9%), and the UK (9%).
- CCTS has attracted 39,802 website users from 187 countries/regions in 2024, with the USA accounting for the largest proportion (26%).
- CCTS received 127,050 pageviews in 2024, more than twice the 58,027 views from 2023.
